DIVIDING RIDGE FARM
852 Hwy 3118 Many, Louisiana 71449
Dividing Ridge Farm began as a dream when the Tarvers purchased property at the site of Fort Jesup - a former Military Post established in 1822. They setup house in the early 1940's with not much more than lots of love and determination. There was a little house, a dairy, a beef cattle operation, an old country store, and plenty of daylight-to-dark work to be done.
The dream really began to take shape when Rick was born. He was introduced to all the happenings of farm life - he took them in and developed over the years into what some refer to as a "jack-of-all-trades". Today he is mostly responsible for the development and construction of the necessary things all farms require.
One of his best ideas was to marry Mary Beth - they assumed the joint duties of farm life, raising their three children, and managing their careers - both are teachers at Northwestern State University.
Mary Beth and Rick continue to develop Dividing Ridge Farm where you will find quality Quarter Horses and Welsh Ponies. Today, the farm includes the operation at Fort Jesup as well as leased property in the Many, Louisiana area. Each summer Mary Beth (The Trail Boss) presents Fun Camp and Equestrian Camp where young horse enthusiast learn and develop their skills.

Fun Camp Review
This day camp stars children 6 years old (during 2019) and older. Each day they learn how to take care of their own horse/pony by learning to brush, saddle, and ride. After riding lessons are over, it is time for a snack and then into the pool for swimming lessons and play. Parents play an active role by having their camper ready for action each day and by arranging for transportation back home.
Morning camps begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. with horseback riding and end with swimming at 12:00 noon. Camps are 4 days a week.
Campers will need to bring a towel, long pants, tennis shoes or boots, a shirt, swimsuit, and a bag suitable for wet clothes. (No open toe shoes allowed.)
Cost of the camp is $175.00. This includes a camp T-shirt, photograph, Red Cross swim card, a Fun Camp certificate, and the use of an approved safety-riding helmet.
A $75.00 deposit per camper will hold your spot with the balance due the first day of camp. Checks should be payable to Dividing Ridge LLC.
